Billy LaVoyce Fikes was born in Hollis, Oklahoma in 1928, I was told by my mother that his middle name came from a close family friend LaVoyce King. LaVoyce King was born in 1912 and passed away in 1973 in Ringling, Jefferson County, Oklahoma, The City of Golden is the county seat of Jefferson County, Colorado. I never met the man.

My Mother, Virginia Ellen Fikes (Burke) was born May 15th, 1935 in Sebastopol, California. Jerry Garcia, Mickey Hart and Charles M. Schulz were notable Sebastopol residents, I never met any of them either.
In 1949 Thieves’ Highway was filmed on Gold Ridge Road in Sebastopol. I never saw it. ->
